This is just the most fabulous vintage coat I have ever had the pleasure to consign - a vintage flapper 1920's Art Deco black wool knit coat. It has carved plastic buttons down the left side and a matching hip hugger wool belt with plastic buckle. The sleeves are what really makes the Art Deco statement with its evenly spaced pleated and stitched layers that give such depth and flair. The coat is 48" long and measuring from the back of the collar to the hem. The chest is 40", measuring from pit to pit and multiplying by 2, the waist is 34" and the hips 42". There had been a collar stitched around the neck and I feel sure that it was fur, probably black. I have quite a few mink collars at my store and will check to see if I have one that will fit in an appropriate color. The coat is fully lined with a cute little pocket inside. You can see in the lining that the exterior buttons were attached by stitching a small clear corresponding buttons in the interior. The coat is a little dusty and the full sun in the photos makes that worse, but overall, the coat is in excellent condition - no holes, stains, odors, wear or dirty feel. This coat is on consignment and belonged to a lady who was born in the 1880s, her granddaughter wanted it to find a loving new home. **We did find a perfect fur collar that will ship with the coat. It is a mahogany color fox that is 5 inches wide and fits the length perfectly, without covering up the buttons.
