Vintage 1920s Lace Flower Cloche Hat
This is an amazing antique cloche from the early 1920s. This type hat first came out in 1920 and the cloche style continued into 1930, although the ones decorated like this were usually in the earlier part of the 1920s. The hat is adjustable because it is made on a metal frame that is flexible. I wear a medium size hat at 22 inches and it fits me very well. The hat The hat has tiny silk and velvet flowers across the front. The top layer is a silver grey lace, but I do not know if it is handmade or not. Along the outer edge of the hat, there is a layer of blue lace, under the silver lace. The frame of the hat is 1st covered with a white stiff gauze like material and then has a silver grey silk material, and then the silver grey lace is on top. The front of the hat , behind the flowers has a metal piece that comes to a point and stand apart from the the rest of the hat, but is attached. The metal is covered with silver grey thread and then has the lace over it. The hat is 7 1/2 inches deep on the longest side and 7 inches deep at the back, which is the most shallow part. There are no labels, but the hat is extremely well made and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
