This is a beautiful antique vintage 1880s to 1890s Victorian silk lined wool jacket by National Cloak & Suit Co. of New York. The jacket is 23 inches in length at the front and 20 inches long in the back. The shoulder seam to shoulder seam measurement is 14 inches. The sleeve length is 23 inches. The chest measurement is 36 inches and the waist is 28 inches. The measurements convert to a modern size 8. This jacket is very good condition with the only flaws being that the buttons are not present and there are 4 areas that have been reweaved. 3 are 1/8 of an inch holes that have been reweaved and 1 is an inch area that was reworked with an inset of material underneath it . The stitching can be seen slightly, if you really search them out. There are 4 button loops down the front center, that should have 4 buttons to go with it. The buttons were probably black glass. I have a lot of antique/vintage buttons, but I do not 4 black buttons this size. The material is in very good condition inside and outside of the jacket. The silk is flawless and has no stains, holes, wear or tears. The wool exterior is perfect, except for the areas mentioned above.
